We are gathering a diverse community of ordinary people to follow Jesus together and to discover a sustainable rhythm of life and faith.
We have a passion for peace and justice issues both at home and abroad (mainly Rwanda and Israel/Palestine). One of our strengths in ministry is our focus on reaching the needy and marginalized, which in our history has meant helping provide snacks, lunches and clothing for refugees and asylum seekers, help for those who have lost homes and belongings to natural disasters, lunches and companionship for those living in low-income government housing, the elderly, etc.
It is for this reason that we purchased our current home, to be located within a community that we can assist in whatever way is needed – food, companionship, material goods. Our property functions as a community center both for worship services, community meals, a community garden, and much more yet to come.
The Sanctuary is an autonomous local church associated with St. Stephen's Ambassadors and Alumni Community and with A Community of Friends International.
